The challenge

• Put an image recognition system inside a toy which is reliable, can be battery-operated, does not heat and can be produced at very low cost

Images of the objects to recognize are collected in advance with the CogniSight module. The training is made in advance on a PC system using images of play cards and Image Knowledge Builder.  The image knowledge file (*.ikf) is saved to an SD card which is then plugged into the toy. When the toy is turned on, the ikf file is loaded into the neurons and recognition starts immediately. Recognition of an object triggers the playback of the associated MP3 file stored on the SD card (i.e. the cat, el gato, le chat, die katze).
